DC UPS with protection class IP67 and safe LiFePO4 battery technology
In harsh industrial and mobile applications, our DC UPS series UPSI-IP guarantees uninterruptible 24V DC power supply for control and regulation modules, embedded box IPCs, drives, actuators, sensors, safety technology and many more in the event of a power failure.
The DC UPS is dustproof and waterproof according to protection class IP67. The high-quality aluminum housing contains the complete DC UPS control and charging electronics as well as the LiFePO4 battery pack for long autonomy times. In normal operation, the UPSI-IP makes the nominal voltage supplied by the mains available at the output, charges the battery pack and monitors the voltage thresholds at the input. If the voltage falls below the defined threshold, the system switches over to UPS backup mode within fractions of a second and ensures an uninterrupted and regulated voltage supply at the output.
The UPSI-IP is ideal for application areas like security and building technology, heavy industry, petrochemicals, tunneling and mining, energy, communication, commercial and special vehicles, the food industry, chemicals and agriculture.
LiFePO4 – The safe and long-lasting lithium-ion battery technology
The integrated LiFePO4 battery pack (lithium iron phosphate) impresses in safety-relevant applications with its particularly stable battery chemistry, high cycle stability and particularly long service life of at least 10 years. The battery management system (BMS) with cell balancing ensures that all cells are charged evenly so that the full capacity of the battery pack can be used over the long term.
Robust aluminum housing with IP67 protection
A robust aluminum housing protects the electronics and energy storage against mechanical influences. The sealed housing elements and connections are resistant to water, ice, oil and dust in accordance with protection class IP67. In addition, the UPSI-IP systems are shock and vibration tested according to EN 60068-2-27 and EN 60068-2-6. Mounting brackets with holes are already attached to the housing for quick and secure attachment.
Minimum load detection
The 'minimum load detection' monitors the output load to be supplied from the energy storage in backup mode (battery mode). If the load at the output falls below a certain limit value, the energy storage device is automatically disconnected from the charging and control unit, so that the energy store is not unnecessarily emptied by the DC UPS electronics. In addition, the minimum load detection ensures that the computer system has been shut down properly after an initiated shutdown process, before the reboot function initiates the restart of the system.
Integrated shutdown & reboot function for IPC systems
In the event of a "PowerFail", the DC UPS signals the failure via the integrated interface, so that a controlled shutdown of the computer system is initiated and valuable data can be saved. The integrated reboot function of the DC UPS automatically initiates the restart of the supplied IPC after the supply voltage has returned, without the need for costly on-site intervention by a service employee, e.g. with completely self-sufficient computer systems in inaccessible locations.
UPS data monitoring and preprogramming for autonomous operation
For data communication with controllers or PC-based systems a USB interface is available (RS232 on request). The included software "UPS Gen2 Configuration" can be downloaded free of charge for setting and preprogramming all parameters of the DC UPS system and for real-time monitoring with fuel gauge. The adjustable parameters include load sensor (mA), shutdown delay, maximum backup time, minimum battery capacity before power up, ignition timer and restart delay. The data connection to the IPC system takes place via integrated USB interface. In addition, an extensive set of commands enables the direct reading of sensor values and the setting of parameters. The continuous recording of operating data allows "Data Monitoring" in real time. The open communication protocol offers system developers individual options for connecting to their own system.

UPS management software 'UPScom'
with intuitive user interface
The software 'UPScom' (freely available for download) allows the connected devices to be shut down and switched off in a controlled manner during a power failure in order to avoid data loss or damage. The responsive WEB UI is called up in a web browser to set and pre-program all parameters of the DC UPS system and for real-time monitoring with state-of-charge indicator. The adjustable parameters include, among other things, load sensor (mA), shutdown delay, maximum backup time, minimum charge capacity before system start, notifications by email.
Cross-platform technology
'UPScom' uses the new WebAssembly (WASM) architecture, which runs in most current web browsers. 'UPScom' runs on x86 compatible systems and also on most ARM-64 based systems under Microsoft® Windows and various Linux distributions.
