The Tinker Board 2S is an ultra-compact single-board computer (SBC) based on the powerful ARM big.LITTLE™ technology and offers a 64-bit processor. This combination enables improved computing power while maintaining low power consumption, making the Tinker Board 2S the ideal choice for IoT devices and other embedded applications.
With its 6-core Rockchip RK3399 system-on-chip (SoC) using the new 64-bit Armv8 architecture, the Tinker Board 2S offers exceptional performance that is significantly improved compared to other popular SBCs. The ARM big.LITTLE™ technology efficiently distributes tasks to the appropriate processor cores, resulting in almost twice the performance of the original Tinker Board.
Graphics performance is boosted by the Mali-T860 GPU, a multi-core GPU designed for complex graphics tasks. It supports a variety of graphics APIs such as OpenGL ES 3.0/3.1 and OpenCL, making it ideal for demanding 2D/3D graphics applications. The GPU performance of the Tinker Board 2S exceeds that of its predecessor by up to 28%.
Another useful feature of the Tinker Board 2S is dual display support, which enables the simultaneous control of two displays in 4K UHD. Thanks to support for HDMI, DisplayPort via USB-C and DSI, the board offers flexible connection options for visually demanding applications.
Wireless connectivity is provided by the 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2x2 dual-band antennas, which enables up to 10 times faster transfer rates than previous Wi-Fi standards. Bluetooth 5.0 is also integrated, which offers twice the transfer speed and up to four times the range.
The Tinker Board 2S has extensive connections, including three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, which enable data transfer up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0. The USB-C port also supports OTG functionality and DisplayPort Alt Mode for connecting external displays.
For use in embedded solutions, the board offers expansion options such as an RTC battery connector, an SD card slot and a fan connector. In addition, the Tinker Board 2S protects against short circuits, electrostatic discharge and overvoltages through advanced protection mechanisms.
The Tinker Board 2S combines outstanding performance with extensive connectivity and easy management, making it the ideal solution for demanding IoT projects and industrial applications.
