Lithium-ion energy storage with long service life
As the successor to conventional lead-sulfuric acid battery chemistry, lithium-ion batteries are convincing as energy storage devices for mobile and portable electrical devices as well as for compact and long-lasting emergency power supplies with optimal properties. Although these are more expensive to buy than classic lead-gel batteries, lithium-ion technology can be used to achieve particularly high energy densities with space and weight savings of up to 75%. Lithium is the lightest metal in the periodic table and at the same time has ideal electrochemical properties for achieving high specific energy densities (Wh / kg). The number of charging cycles, the realizable depth of discharge DoD (Depth of Discharge) and the up to five times longer service life under comparable operating conditions are also many times greater than with lead-gel batteries. The BMS (Battery Management System) monitors and controls the complete charge and discharge process of each energy storage battery cell. The integrated cell-balancing ensures a balanced and even charge of all cells, so that the full capacity of the lithium-ion battery pack remains permanently usable.
