Extremely rugged longlife energy storage for DC UPS systems
For the use of DC UPS systems in environments with permanently high or low temperatures, pure lead-tin battery cells, such as the "Hawker Cyclon", are ideal as energy storage. Unlike traditional lead-acid batteries, the extremely ruggedized cells use wound, thin pure lead (99.004%) electrode grills with a tin alloy (0.65%). The optimized electrochemical processes in the valve-controlled cyclon cells (VRLA) enable high temperature resistance and a particularly long service life. Pure lead-tin batteries are particularly shock and vibration resistant and can be installed, charged and discharged in any position.
