24V DC UPS module protects against power failure, brownouts or flicker

For energy storage in the compact DC UPS module UPSIC-2403D, we use maintenance-free long-life Supercaps with more than 500,000 charge and discharge cycles, which are fully charged and ready for use in max. 60 sec. The UPSIC-2403D in a robust DIN rail housing ensures the uninterruptible 24VDC power supply for embedded IPCs, gateways, motors, sensors, actuators, card readers, cameras, security technology, etc.

In contrast to batteries, which store energy via a detour through a chemical reaction, Supercaps are based on electrophysical principles and are charged and ready for use within a very short time. Under comparable conditions of use, Supercaps have a service life that is up to ten times longer than classic lead-acid batteries. Our energy storage devices with Supercaps also impress with high current carrying capacity, power density and reliability.

The intelligent 'Power Sharing' at the 24VDC input ensures that the upstream AC/DC power supply does not have to be oversized, but that the input power is kept constant and appropriately distributed to the load and Supercap charger. With a low load at the output, more energy flows into the charger and vice versa. This saves energy and costs.

With help of the UPS Control Center software, settings on the DC UPS can be made conveniently. The software can be downloaded free of charge. In addition, an extensive set of commands enables the direct reading of sensor values and the setting of parameters. The continuous acquisition of operating data allows "data monitoring" in real time. The open communication protocol offers system developers individual options for connecting to their own system..




/// Shutdown & Reboot function for IPC systems

In the event of a "PowerFail", the DC UPS signals the failure via the integrated interface, so that a controlled shutdown of the computer system is initiated and valuable data can be saved. The integrated reboot function of the DC UPS automatically initiates the restart of the supplied IPC after the supply voltage has returned, without the need for costly on-site intervention by a service employee, e.g. with completely self-sufficient computer systems in inaccessible locations.
