The new DC UPS compact module UPSI-1208DP2 with maintenance-free ultra-capacitors (so-called Supercaps) reliably bridges power failures, flicker and voltage drops, so that the uninterrupted 12VDC power supply of the connected DC load is ensured. The highly efficient Supercap energy storage device for more than 500,000 cycles can be charged quickly and is extremely durable.

The compact DC UPS modules in a robust DIN rail housing are ideally suited for use in control cabinet applications and decentralized solutions for protecting embedded IPCs, controls, motor drives, sensors, measurement, control and safety technology, etc.








/// 'Power Sharing' with intelligent input current detection
The intelligent 'Power Sharing' at 12VDC input ensures that the upstream AC/DC power supply does not have to be overdimensioned, because the input power is kept constant and appropriately distributed to load and Supercap charger. With a low load at the output, more energy flows into the charger and vice versa. This saves energy and costs.

In contrast to batteries, which store energy via a detour through a chemical reaction, Supercaps are based on electrophysical principles and are charged and ready for use within a very short time. Under comparable operating conditions, Supercaps have a service life that is up to ten times longer than classic lead-acid batteries. Our energy storage devices with Supercaps also impress with their high current carrying capacity, power density and reliability.

The UPSI-1208DP2 works reliably and safely both at sub-zero temperatures and in the extended temperature range up to +65°C. In addition, the Supercap cell balancing ensures optimal charge distribution and high capacity stability over the entire temperature range.

With help of the integrated load sensor, the DC UPS is switched off as soon as the load value falls below the threshold (no load) so that energy is not used unnecessarily.

The included HID Control Center management software is for setting and preprogramming all parameters as well as real-time monitoring of the DC UPS system. It is available for free download with the respective product at our website www.bicker.de.


/// Shutdown & Reboot function for IPC systems
In the event of a "PowerFail", the DC UPS signals the failure via the integrated interface, so that a controlled shutdown of the computer system is initiated and valuable data can be saved. The integrated reboot function of the DC UPS automatically initiates the restart of the supplied IPC after the supply voltage has returned, without the need for costly on-site intervention by a service employee, e.g. with completely self-sufficient computer systems in inaccessible locations.
